eternal girls

ok, if i didn’t have to identify as male or female or even genderqueer i would as:

a flower (presumably wild, most likely pink, but daisies too, a rotating bouquet, different petal hues and shapes depending on current vibration)

a shell (scallop primarily, but growing into conch as i mature and elongate in twirl, the delicate parts forever periwinkle, mother of pearl laquering my everywhere)

why make it more than these things?

there was a time when all children were called “girls.”
