LITTLE WOUND
Make a hole
put something shiny there
something to converse with
your eyes, hair
all the places
light rests
alert skin to make
new walls
the skin might try
to swallow the intruder
take good care
apply antiseptic
pile hair with enough
twists and caverns
so power may settle
in the folds
remember your back
is happier
when it’s straight
thank the little wound
for its submission.
I love this poem's movement.
